Strange Monk

Knock him out? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I don't find these monks very useful. I enhance my skills by paying someone in the port. I've killed one of these monks but my reputation went down to bloody terror so I've just loaded the previous save and continued playing without paying attention to them.

why does everyone kill them? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> you're not supposed to kill them! being a monk is becoming dangerous these days. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> all those patato-monk-killing looneys rampaging around. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> and why should he be usefull? he's a bloody monk, dammit!

They're there for those who do want to use the things they offer. If you don't want to use them, just don't pay attention to them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

of course. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> but it's not really bessesary to kill them, is it?! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> i never understood why some first time players think that you should kill everyone.

No, I kill them because they get on my nerve. I unwind myself on them when I get frustrated. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

ah. want a laugh? attack a random citizen and whatch as your officers kill everyone they can see. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> it's absolute madness! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I don't go with officers very often. I actually play the game with 2 maybe 3 officers. Even then, I go alone. I always forget to hire some more when I moor. Ah, well, the game is still too easy. You conquer a fort and earn 1 million and 500 000 and you are all set (at least for a couple of months).

then don't. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Divide the loot and watch what it does to your fame! Go to the crew screen, change from paying salary to dividing the loot. Wait a day. Divide the loot. Check your "known as" on the character screen before and after.

I agree that it is too easy to earn big amounts of money. Too much person are caring great sums on them, and expensives weapons too. Might be good if the 'common saber' was a little more common and if the people didn't always take their money with them when they leave their house. (just a dozen gold coins, maybe?)

Hey Hook, I'll check that tip of yours <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

I have never signed contracts with my crew until now.

I suppose we'll need to decrease the amounts of money quite a bit then. I'd like it if the game were pretty challenging. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

the amounts of money you get now where decided by the 'devide the plunder' mod. as a result, you now get too much money if you only pay a salary. i always have a steady increase in my money, but not that much. i could make the increase much faster, but i don't.
