(Stock PotC) Choices in quests

One thing I loved about this game especially back when it came out was its open gameplay design. Not only that you could literally just sail the seas forever as a merchant, smuggler or whatever - even the quests occasionally gave you choices, like killing Nigel Blythe or let Artois Voisey get killed by him, or the assassination mission you get tasked with in Conceicao. Those choices appeared not only in side quests - for example, after you learn about the french ship 'Oiseau' during the Oxbay invasion which is bound to leave from Falaise de Fleur to Oxbay, you get the choice of telling Silehard first or sailing directly to the french colony and destroy the ship. However, this choice doesnt really change anything, as even after telling Silehard, your task is the same, to get to Falaise de Fleur and destroy the ship.

So I wanted to ask you guys, do you remember any choices in the game that actually change the course of the game quite a lot? Or is it purely linear in the main story and only gives you the impression of choice like in the 'Oiseau's case?

There is no real choice in the main story - for example, whether you do it on your own initiative or you wait for orders from Silehard, you must destroy (or capture) the Oiseau because the next part of the story won't start until you do.

In the assassin quest, you should have a few choices when you get to Amerigo Vieira.

During Artois Voysey's quest, there will come a time when you will ask him something and he will refuse to answer. You can either accept that or demand an answer. The quest will then proceed differently depending on your choice.

Thank you, I have checked out New Horizons for the first time now and I love it. Started with Jack Sparrows campaign. It’s insane how much work went into this mod, it’s truly beautiful. Big thumbs up to everyone that worked on this!
