You're getting somewhere! :woot

Why does your own ship have HMS in her name?

How did you give Nelson his correct portrait, but not his accompanying uniform?

I named my ship that way.

I don’t know what’s up with getting their models, I must have done it wrong. I’m trying to get Nelson’s flag to show as well.

Oh, so then it only applies to the player?
Nelson's personal flag is a personal flag and therefore shows up only if he's also PERSONAL_NATION.
Some WIP code exists to allow it for PRIVATEER_NATION too, but I don't think that fully works.

He should at least get the navy ensign by default.

Only Pirate and Personal have multiple custom flags.

Ever seen the adventure game "Myst"? In particular, the "Stoneship" age, which features a rocky island with a ship embedded in it?

This is the French navy's attempt to re-create that age.

Silly AI! :rofl

I wonder what was the wind direction there. It is definitely possible for the "tacking" mode to force a ship towards the shore.
Cannot really be avoided though.

The wind was blowing across me, port to starboard, slightly towards me - and straight in the faces of the French ships. The flags are a bit of a clue but the compass is a complete giveaway. ;)

But if I remember correctly, the ship didn't tack into that rock, it started there. Silly collision detection! xD

At dusk. the San Fiasco under Eustace Plums approaches an unknown island after escaping from pirates. With her cardboard guns and mutinous crew, despite the decision to grant a pint of rum a day, will Captain Plums ever leave alive?

After being attacked by one too many gangs of highwaymen, we decided to leave them a little message to discourage any others...

(This is what happens when highwaymen attack you in a jungle location which has extra, insubstantial trees on the path. xD)

I didn't notice this before I named my storyline and the main character.

If Ardent has an entire ship class named after him in the "Revolutions" period, I'm going to have to make him do something to earn it...

You're suggesting that he does something worthy of getting a class of ship named after him many, many years later, right?

Or at least, something notable enough that Thomas Slade's father (who would probably have been around in 1691, given that Thomas was born in 1703) might have heard of him and told inspiring stories to the young Thomas...

Incidentally, the Wikipedia article about Thomas Slade says:
He produced a 'generic design' that was used as a template for the Royal Navy's 74-gun ships and frigates.
So if all the warships in the "Revolutions" and "Napoleonic" periods look similar, this is probably the man responsible. :D
