Removing Nation emblem from sails

I'm new to the whole Modding deal and was wondering if there was a way to remove the nations emblem from the sails during the 3d battle mode. Such as, if I had the black pearl as my ship and chose Pirate as my nation to get the jolly roger emblem on the sails could i edit a file to make it where if I chose to go to Holland as my nation that instead of it displaying the dutch emblem it would actually go back to just standard sails? Hopefully that makes sense.
