I have released my first little MOD:
No Crew Limit Capture mod:
This mod removes the check on crew size when capturing a ship.
Once you gain victory over an enemy captain during boarding and get to the
'Robbery' screen you are given the option to capture the ship (setting
one of your officers as it's captain). Normally when you do this the game
does a check to see if your crew size is enough to meet the minimum
requirements for both your vessel and the captured one. If you do not have
enough, it disallows you from taking the ship.
I find this restriction unecessary for three reasons:
1. Even if you have enough crew, you don't even have to transfer any of your
crew over to the captured ship. You can simply leave it at 0 and still take the
ship.
2. You might not have enough crew on your current vessel, but perhaps you have
another vessel in your fleet which you can transfer crew from to meet the min
requirements for every ship in your fleet. Or perhaps you want to swap the crew
from another ship in your fleet with this captured ship and abandoned that
other ship. These are all options available to you with this mod.
3. The game still does a check for min crew size when you try to go back to the
global map. If one of your ships does not have enough crew it does not let you
leave the area anyway.
