Solved quest-line question...

hello all i have a story line question:-

I took the Curac.. - Violant intro to celebrity pirates. The governor general of port royal was rather jovial. I went to the four pirates i was ordered to recruit for an attack on a city. They all refused, Morgon told me to meet him at port royal.

I went back to port royal to debrief the governor general. Now he doesnt know who i am. I dont seem to have a lcense or something.

My reations are excelent with england, neutral with france and hostile with U.P, spain and smugglers.

What happened? is this part of the quest or should i try and get a letter of mark to finish the quest?

Have not played that questline myself, but I think: to "successfully fail this mission" does not mean to lose the english patent. I think you lost your patent somewhere (by buying a patent of a different nation or by attacking an english fort or ....), so the general gov doesn't "recognize" you anymore. So you unsuccessfully failed this mission. sorry. I think your national questline is broken and you will have to reload a savegame where you still have the patent to continue the questline.

Thank you for your response and the link. It is appreciated. I must have sunk an english ship by accident! Anyway, i did that mission about 5 days ago. To get the governer general to respond to me i went to a pirate colony and purchased a letter of marque. The only bug ive descovered is my title/rank with the english. I believe i went up one title. Lost my letter of marque. Then started again from scratch. ;-)
