Solved "POTC has stopped working" crash

So just finished uni, thought about giving this mod another go with the latest version b14 beta 4 from April 2016.

The game works till you start a new game, it loads, then the infamous "POTC has stopped working" box appears and the game has to close.

I have no idea what has caused this and can find no error log.

Windows 10 Home and DirectX version 12 are on the computer.

If anyone can help i would be very grateful.
