There is no English version yet. The best you can do is translate the interface for a bit, but all the dialogs will remain firmly Russian. So unless you understand a bit Russian, it's hard to understand anything. Luckily the Russian development team is working on an English version and judging by the fact that now both the F.A.Q. and site have been translated into English, the English version looks like it may be released soon. When? I don't know. I doubt anyone knows for sure... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

At last I have managed to bought English letter of mark. So, owing to that I could start my English carrier now. And considering that it seems to me the game have become more interesting now. But what is very unpleasant for me is almost endless loading in the course of any transition from one location to another. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />
 
you get that too, slow-ass loading between locations? i thought it was jut my slow-ass computer. at least it lets me get some reading done between locations. Like War & Peace...

But seriously I would like to concoct some ways to shorten this. Like, the option to go directly to the ship instead of going to port and THEn your ship. Or the option to go from one town to another on an island instead of traipsing through the blasted jungly bits all the time. I need to buy some more maps. (Related idea - a cartographer character, for hire, who could make you a map of any island you visit. That'd be nice.)

Level 35 by the way, cruising the seas with two monster Men-o-Wars. I've sacked two forts (and holy crappoly, what a lot of dudes to have to kill), but how come I can't actually _capture_ them? I was sure that was an option.
 
Hi, Alan. Yes, I have too this low-ass loading on my computer ( even about 1 minute now as I measured that) in the course of any my transition from any one location to another. I spoke with Alexus about it already some time ago and he told me it is some glitch in programing but he told me too he doesn´t know yet how to eliminate it. It´s a pitty because by this very prolonged loading the game proceeding is very slow. What side do you play for? English or Spanish? I bought the letter of mark at Nevis in brothel from English agent. It cost me 320 thousand gold. I am on 28th level but I have still war ship with the maximum crew of 490 person and it is still little for any larger action. How did you get your MOW? By capturing? I had some first mate in the past but he was killed and now I can´t find any other one anywhere. I have almost all the maps and I bought them from various vendors or in the stores but practically I need only the Cuba´s map. All maps look quite simply but they are quite exact and useful for me especially in the course of traveling accross the Cuba´s jungles. But I had to learn using it properly. All the time I must do a lot of smuggling so as to not to be in constant shortage of money. I have about 1,5 millions of gold. I tried to built my colony but all my slaves were constantly dying so I postponed this endeavour for some future. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

Do you have a Letter of Marque? You'll need one if you want to capture a colony for your nation.

Rad: Spanish LoM, and I caught the MoW by waiting till someone attacked a town (the attackers always have a MoW) then trying repeatedly till I could board it and not have too many of my men slaughtered. Around 290 is the min. crew needed for it.

Jack: Thanks... though I have that Spanish patent but there is no other dialog option from the mayor, just that I ask him to give me money. And I've completed at least one quest for Spain. I dunno... will keep trying. But I can't capture it and keep it for myself?
Meanwhile I have begun building my own town...
