Seb: Love the French fleet, I will get them asap. You might want to talk with Captain Hawk about making them into new ships.

Version 1 is nearly ready, I just need to put in a few more ships and skins, then put the .zip on the ftp. I don't think v1 will be b13, so what I want to do is get b13 when its out, wipe the slate clean, and start putting v2's ships. (I'll still be using v1's characters and sounds, etc. Fir sime reason, with all the different people giving seperate ships and skins, the mod has gotten rather shuffled up! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />)

I would be most interested in using AoP models in P&E. Perhaps in a later version once we get the basics down. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Something I want to do after we get a v1 out is to actually have ships that are unique to the mod. What I mean is tahing all the skins that we have made and giving them new ships, not old ones to overwrite. I would like to make it easy, like this:

Here is the new model list:

Shynvia model becomes BRIG
Sloop_o_War by CapHawk model becomes SLOOP OF WAR
Corvette becomes FRIGATE
Frigate becomes HEAVY FRIGATE
Fearless becomes FOURTH RATE
The extended Fearless cecomes THIRD RATE
Battleship becomes SECOND RATE
Manowar becomes FIRST RATE

We then need to look at the paintjobs. Seb did an awesome job on the French fleet. All we need to do is apply those schemes to the models above and then recolor the red to yellow ore, white, teak, dark green, and dark blue.

This way, everything looks uniformed and is easy to use. There will be no more "what skin to what model?" or "but this overwrites that."

This will be the goal for v2.
 
and you need to update your mod manuel :p you forgot the new napoleonic skins of the americans soliders and naval officers. (is horatio hornblower comming into the mod?)
 
I'd love to turn those new skins as ships, that would make the things easier if i would upload them as ships and not as skins, and i'd like to learn, but i'll soon be in circumstances that wont let me the time to do it, i'll be moving to live on my own in 15 days and i'm still working, i'll also stay without the net during an undefined time so, for the moment at least we must find somebody to do it :/

With all our RN like skins, those made by Thomas and those i made in the past we have now two fleets done
In the time i've i'll try to start skin for en eventual WIC
 
i only have the cutter and the Indie, I have skinned tow dutch ships, a fleut and a yacht (starting screenship) so we have already 2 ships, i shall put them on the ftp tomorrow, i am on the moment busy to make different ships of seb`s ships. but i dont know if i have all royal navy ones. i have the lineship, the sol64 the corvette and the fearless. I only have made seperate gm files, and renamed the tga.tx files. i stil need to hex them and put them in ships init and common.ini .

it is not a so much fun party it is because an aunt works 40 years by the major, still fun only a party of school with mates is much more fun :p

I've an idea,

Could'nt we use Horblower, Jack Aubrey and an anonym JVM Skin pack british captain, or again CJPJ thomas character itself, as starting characters for the new games menu in the mod, that would make them heroes of the quest and main character, and better :

We replace the pirates in the new game menu by Jmv skin pack officers of each nation in the menu, so we have napoleonic choices to start a game!! You can be one of those three heroes or a french, spanish, american, dutch or portuguese officer to lead your quest!!

And we add ships to go with 'em!! Inzane's Surprise and a Corvette of each nation!!

It is illogic if you start your game with a pirate and a lugger don't you think?

i Did a part of that for my game (added Aubrey and the surprise) and that fits very well with the mod <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

So a New Game menu mod, we could call it "Napoleonic wars heroes" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />
 
but i think that they would need smaller ships, like a cutter for the enlish and a yacht for the dutch, barque? for the frech, lugger for the spanish 16 gun brig for the american

I am almost ready with the ships, but i think i leave out my cutter until cap`n hawks his cutter is in the pre build 13, his files always make my game go abnormal error. So only seb`s ships will be included.
 
without the cutter the game runs, so there is something with the walk files of that ship. Maybe i will add a new deck texture for Royal Navy ships, i thought that there decks always were a bit white and grey
 
I had an idea, if we have more military painting ships, we could give all warships, without military paintins scheme pirate, so we only would encounter Navy ships if it is a patrol and other ships if it is merchant or pirate.

Smallsword 3-5 - - $480-$800 A gentleman's sword. This is a plain version, many are jewelled and gilded.

Musket, matchlock 1 - - $160 Somewhat slow and antiquated, but cheap.

Swivelgun 2 - - £320 Per pound shot. Weight of the gun is about 50 times the weight of the shot

Roundshot - - 2 $1.30 Per pound of shot.
Pistol/Musket shot - - 6 $4 Per pound of shot - around 15 musket balls or 25 pistol balls.
Wadding - - - - Any canvas, linen or paper will do. Worn sailcloth is commonly used.
Black Eagle (powder) - 10 - $80 Per cask. This powder is old and has settled out of its original mix. It has been around too long. It is less reliable and more dangerous than other powders, but it is cheap!
French White Letter (powder) 1 - - $160 Per cask. This powder is not fresh, but it has been stored and mixed properly and gives good report when fired.
Red Letter (powder) 1 10 - $240 Per cask. This powder is hard to get. It is Port-Royal's best powder, and the ingredients are superior. This is new powder that stores well.
White Letter Primer 2 - - $320 Per cask. This is a fine grain high quality powder, used to prime both handguns and cannons. Fine grain priming powder is a neccessity. Each cannon shot used as much primer as a fully loaded musket uses common powder.
Powder horn - - 10 $6.70 Holds the coarse reloading powder for pistols and muskets. Contains around 40 shots worth of powder.
Priming horn - - 6 $4 Holds the finer priming powder.
Cartridge box - 2 6 $20 Holds between 12 and 20 paper cartriges for a musket.
Bayonet - 2 6 $20 Socket type bayonet.

the second number is in doubloons.
 
I am now busy with THE Royal Navy Pack, it will include:
1. Seb`s skins as unique ships (finished)
2. New Royal Navy deck skins (almost finished, These will be hexed in only on the Royal Navy Ships)
3. Some of my Royal Navy ships (beginning)
4. Royal Navy sailors for boardings (fine tuning)
5. MAYBE a new tutorial cabin skin for royal navy skin. (not yet begon)
 
<b>About the New Game menu:</b>
You can add new character and ship models by changing the settings at the bottom of BuildSettings.h. If you add new characters, however, you should also add a picture to RESOURCE\Textures\INTERFACES\BACKGROUND .

If you want to add more ships and characters, you should modify PROGRAM\INTERFACE\choose_character.c and add new BuildSettings.h defines to the bottom of the file.

I think that if you start the P&E mod, you shouldn't be given a Corvette to start with. It is fun to start with a navy ship, but you should start with a small one, otherwise the game would be too easy.

At the moment the character nation, model and ship are not linked. So you would be able to play as Captain Jack Aubrey, sailing a French navy ship while choosing the Spanish nation. If you want to change that, you will have to edit choose_character.c quite thoroughly.
 
<b> ATTENTION </b>

I have put the Royal Navy mod on the FTP, the file is in my map.
This contains:
1.Seb ships as seperate ships
2. 2 Ships of me own Sloop of War and 16 gun Brig
3. A new deck skin that will be only used by the Royal Navy ones
4. 4 Royal Navy Sailors.
