Pirates of the Caribbean: Community Prequel Script

I know. Maybe you can try to rewrite it again in installments. Maybe it will come back to you then, instead of trying to repost everything.

That's what I thought you meant. It does still exist even though NewsCrew keeps trying to bury it. Mercer seems to have disappeared though so we will probably have to go it alone with the screenplay.

Welcome back, Mercer! Thankfully I will soon be done with school and will be having more time on my hands again.
I agree we should get this script done; we've done too much already to leave it be. This morning actually I had some more ideas for it.
In a while, I'll try to write up a full first draft for everybody to comment on. I had started work on that before, but lost it, so I'll have to redo it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

9 - Jack meets Tia, leaves with Edwards to go to take the Wench into the French port to attack. We can have some encounter again with the lion, or just hear him again but this time its just Edwards and Jack. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Also, Edwards tells Jack what he knows of the mission on the way to the port.

10 - Mercer succeeds in "drafting" most of the men in the village to attack the French port. After they march off he has the marines round up the rest of the village and Tia. Flower in the dirt scene.

11 - With the battle for the port over, Mercer leads the villagers into the Wench in chains. Jack is horrified.

12 - The attack on the French port is successful, though it angers a French pirate who follows the Wench out to sea.

13 - Wicked Wench has a battle with the French pirate after leaving Africa. Jack defeats them and gives Edwards command (with a compliment of EITC marines) of the French ship.

14 - Jack winds up freeing the French pirate and his crew and overtaking Mercer and the EITC marines left on the Wench.

15 - Edwards comes in on Jack making his flag and they wind up parting ways. Jack tells Edwards and Mercer that Tia was the real target of Beckett's plan.

13 - Jack frees Tia and natives, she gives him the compass.

Well we should get talking with disney. Maybe pitch the idea with them?
 
I actually asked the webmaster of the Wordplayer forum (Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio's website),
but she said there's basically no chance for our script getting done as a movie.
Of course I don't care that much, as long as we'end up with a cool story that people can enjoy anyway.
If not as a movie, it'll still explain the beginning of the stories in a better fashion than most of the books/comics have been doing, I think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

In my draft, I had actually gotten past the jungle scene already and got up to Jack turning pirate on the way to the Caribbean.
 
You know, Pieter is on to something. Even if we can't pitch the idea to Disney, we maybe can shoot to have our work published and then that would be an opening for it to made into a prequel. I know that seems "pie in the sky" but who knows, stranger things have happened.
 
Or we just post it on all PotC forums and sites we can find and maybe people will like it so much that they'll want it turned into a movie?
I can't see it being published, especially not in script-form. Maybe in story-form.
But I think Commodore John Paul Jones was already having major trouble getting his early Norrington books published.
