Picture War

I could not find a good picture of the sand ships, so this will have to do. It may not appear so now, but back in 1980 when Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles debuted on TV, this was pretty damn creepy!

Basically, a Greek physician named Ctesias travelled to India, saw these, and described them as being wild asses the size of horses or bigger, and having a horn in the middle of their brow. Later scholars who had never seen the original creature and who only had Ctesias' description took it literally.
