What does in "irons" mean? I`m not a native english speaker.

Theoretically possible. But I imagine that round shot would be among the very last things to disappear from the fort inventory. Also, this has happened regularly, so it seems to be an AI "cheat" to me. And those ships in "irons" miraculously regain sailing abilities when blown into the port basin.

I think you misunderstand, I know where the settings are in the game. What I say, as a player, is that they are unrealistic at the hardest level and unbalanced. The challenge is provided in the wrong places, IMO. The next hardest level is acceptable, but far from balanced. If you mean that I should code myself until I`m satisfied, well, I can`t code... I`m only a player and I submit my opinions in the hope of future improvements.

Irrespectively of who made it, the problems are there. Why not take a look at Sea Dogs, IMO, the difficulty levels there are nicely balanced. It`s possible to defeat large ships with small ones even at the hardest level, but it takes LOTS of time and tactics. In POTC, with good officers, you can succesfully board most anything with a lugger or cutter. The only challenge is to avoid being blown out of the water first. And this is impossible on the hardest level, because your vessel becomes static. On the other levels it`s not too hard.
