(NOTE: Was not a "slam or a pick" at Rupert. I sometimes have difficulty understanding what you mean when you post, thats all.) What with humans being so visual.. I am on the low end of the evolutional scale and I need to see someones facial and body expressions to really pick up on what mood they are trying to convey. Actually a temp patch has been released.
For real, but it only addresses some problems with the DVD security.

I will not tell you where to find it, because they decided to make it an `Easter-Egg`.

This thing is a BIT## to find.

Another public relations failure.

Maybe that is part of the security.
 
I have been wondering ... does anyone here have the DVD version? If so, what type of security does it use? I have read about other games using STARFORCE and apparently it really can mess with your system and cause all kinds of errors, especially comcerning the DVD/CD burners.. Does SMP use Starforce on the DVD version?
 
I have a DVD drive and thought about DVD's screwing up computers/games before I purchased SMP and bought the two CD's instead. DVD's are fine for movies but I don't really think they are ready for computer games yet as other games on the market with DVD there has been quite a stir for the computer users. I heard some of the SMP DVD users state they have had no problems but just as many have said they have DVD problems.

I'm sure the game mfg industry will get the DVD idea straightened out before long, but intill then I'll stay away from DVD games.
 
I own the DVD version

no problems with it yet (as far as install goes)
