Need Help Nigel Blythe quest

Quest hint (Walkthrough):
Sail to Port Royale, Jamaica – talk to self on jetty – Quest Book update. (this has to be after Speightstown has been recaptured by English in the Main Story line )
QB Log:

Does it have something to do with the last comment "but should make sure to incresase his defensive abilities and fighting skill". Nigel B has less than 5 points on each ability.

On arrival @ Port Royale, Jamaica:

The Quest Book entry should not affect anything - It is just a hint or piece of advice

The only time the Quest book causes problems is when it does not update when it should - that means the quest code has not actioned and the quest has broken.

Can you go back to an earlier save and try arriving at Port Royale again - & see if the quest Book updates.

If it does not then can you post the error logs.

Have finished the main story line and arrived @ Port Royale. No QB update and no error notification.

Have you talked to the Governor yet?

And how did you get into port when the English are supposed to be mad at you? I always have to sneak into town.

I used the neutral flag (White) to dock in port before I reported to the new governor.

Do you have any System.log or Compile.log files - Sorry I should have asked for these before.

Question - when did you hire Nigel Blythe ? - was it when you first met him in Nevis, Pirate Settlement - or did you go back later and hire him.

If you hired him when you first met him - then the Main Story line should have taken you back to Port Royale several times - and Nigel should have activated on the first occasion you went to Port Royale after you hired him. - Can you remember if you had him as an active officer on any of these occasions.

If you finished the Main Story line - then went to the Pirate settlement on Nevis and hired him: - and this is your first time since then at Port Royale then I don't know why the quest has broken

I am very sure I made Nigel as officer (he appears in the passenger box) after I hired him.
I just could not point out thru the System.Log what we are looking as there are numerous logs in file.
