New player questions

Three questions

1. Is there any way to make the game resolution higher than 1024x768

2. I prey there is a way to zoom the camera out then right up on your character but I have yet to find one

3. Is there a special way to install build 14 alpha 8 on vista because I am having issues installing with writing things etc...

I'd answer your questions, but I'm not sure my answers would be right as I haven't played PoTC in a while.

I do know though that there is a way to get higher resolutions - that should be in the "Configure Pirates of the Caribbean" link in the "Bethesda Softworks" folder on your Start Menu <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> .

as far as i know, it isnt possible to zoom in or out while walking with your character, there is only the option to use 1st or 3rd person. And i dont believe it is possible to make a zoom option in this game, at least that is my guess.

Try moving your mouse to zoom in and out on your character (or ship).

K, my next question is how does owning land work and is there anyway to get my rep back up quickly?

you just receive money from the land you own every day, there is nothing more about it (yet). To get reputation you can donate money to Church (they pratically rob us, but it works), you can donate money to the poor people on the streets, you can rescue survivors from a ship that just sunk, you can accomplish quests and you can tell the noble lady in her bedroom that she is beautiful and blah blah blah. Those are all the ways to get reputation that i know so far (i may have forgotten something). Which do you think is the faster way to gain reputation? It is up to you actually, depending of your way to play. If you like to sail all the time, rarely stopping by a port, then sinking ships and rescuing survivors is the best way. If you like to wander in the streets and talk with everyone, this isnt a bad way to gain reputation, but you will oftenly get robbed and it will annoy you some times.

i dont think any of those ways are faster than another. Thats my opinion.
