The following was a reply to a question in another topic, however I thought I might post it here separately to see if there is any interest.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->there mateys.
There is a Lugger in the SLiB files that I have transferred over (albeit imperfectly) to my latest build game. Actually it seems to work fine on a new game, but saved games tend to crash with it. That's probably just my incomplete modding of it. Anyway, she's a fine looking vessel, complete with wheel, floating compass, great looking brass cannons, bell, pump, anchors, capstan, etc, as well as complex rigging and blocks, all with great quality skins. I've defined a few stats for it which seem to be reasonably well balanced, not much different to Cat's LuggerCT series. Since the cannons looked brass , I made them 9lb long guns.
So, if there is enough interest we could maybe add it to the Mod Pack, however, the following issues would need to be addressed:
- Confirmation from ALexusB and the SLiB team (particularly the designer of the ship) that this is OK to adapt to our mod.
- We'll need somebody to come up with a "walk file" for this ship. I'd do it myself but I don't currently have a 3d modelling program with which to do so.
- I still haven't sorted out the portrait info yet... this could possibly be why it's crashing with my saved game.
- There may well be other issues, however I've only just got this one off the ground so I'm sure there is still some work ahead to smooth it out.
So, once again, if there are some competant modders out there (I know there are some clever ones out there) who can help me out with this one, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've got the files and have come up with a basic working mod, I just need someone to knock them into better shape.
Cheers, mateys Looking forward to some feedback on this one.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
