New Location-specific Loading Screens

WOW PIETER! Magnificent <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Really great screenshots!

Thanks Thomas. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Awesome screenshots Pieter! Very impressive.

Maybe keep original pictures (without texts) for some time. Now when Different Flags mod turned out not to collide with former reload screens made as interfaces I think I'll reimplement that system at some point.

I don't have the banner-less imagines anymore. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
I probably could get empty banners though by pasting the empty banners over the ones with text though.

Does anyone have any comments on the quality of these screens in Alpha 9.5? All I heard was Jason's comments that they look really bad.

Which ones are those? And how about the actual quality? I want to know if the compression is good or too much. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

I don't like the house loading screen and the Bonaire port loading screen, the lighting is too much, too extreme. The quality is fine though.

I was somewhat worried that the lighting might be too much; cool shot, though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
Not sure what else to make of the house. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

NEW ONES! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

And at the request of Thomas the Terror, here's a new Kralendijk port one minus the lightning and plus nice ships. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<img src="http://piratesahoy.net/build/images/loading/locations/Douwesen_Port2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

that's some good lighting. not nearly as dark as the earlier ones. not at all, in fact.

That's the stock game lighting. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Do you have the uncompressed version of that and which shore is it? We can use that one. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
BTW: I recommend you make your screenshots in 1152 x 864, though 1024 x 768 is fine too.

yes ok i will do that...what do u mean uncompressed i put the file straight up from my pictures.....also could u link the file of the shore banners to me so i can put it on..ty

its caymans shore...cayman buff i think

Not much to say about the town screens - they´re much like the original, lightningwise = <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
I think the prison and the harbour shots are especially cool, while the shipyard lacks lightning to present itself at best. But as you say, it is the natural lightning of the game, nothing to do about it. Lightening them up in photoshop would be.. kind of fake..
Overall all your screenshots are 5x better or more, than the quality of stock game images.

Here's my loading screen template: <a href="http://piratesahoy.net/build/temp/%2B%20TEMPLATE%20Loading%20Screen.7z" target="_blank">http://piratesahoy.net/build/temp/%2B%20TE...ing%20Screen.7z</a>
With "uncompressed" I mean the version before saving to JPG; I'd like to use the highest possible quality for the loading screens.

The original Douwesen Port was nice and atmospheric.
And check the original church one too. Not so bad. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />
