Cannot Confirm New Horizons, cannot transfer personal/chest items

Hi,

Can scroll through personal/chest/etc items but when I click up or down arrow to transfer nothing happens

Build 14 Beta 4 installed 7th April 2016 on windows 7

Please upload a savegame (ZIP it up first) and maybe a screenshot too.

This does not sound like a normal issue as that does generally work fine for people.

I have the same issue plus wasd not working on open sea

And that sounds like another issue again.

Did those problems all occur at the same time? Have you got any clue how or when that got triggered?

The save game shows compatability for the latest 4.1 7th Jan 2017 not the published April 4.0 where it is incompatible. However it crashes to blackscreen on either (from which I can crash the engine with f1 and get a very confused error log). Can you try zipping another save and confirm what version you are running?

Happend first when I left EIC offices with new uniform & went back to previous save then happened after Muscotto Cove when I get Spaarow`s next outfit

The save game shows compatability for the latest 4.1 7th Jan 2017 not the published April 4.0 where it is incompatible. That's the latest Installer EXE, but EXCLUDING the Extra Fix Archive by @Grey Roger.
That archive shouldn't cause any savegame incompatibility though, if I recall, so the saves should load either way.

Yes should but with my 7th Jan version all I get is a hung black screen on install of either of the two saves. If I crash that (by pressing F1 for example) I get this error log.

So I don't think I can look any further at the reported problems for now because I can't get to them!

Then either you have a non-clean version or @gdcaza does.
And if it's indeed @gdcaza, then providing any further support is indeed pretty much impossible.

I did put new fix files in game (after first problem), the saves load but tabs, mouse & wsad do not all work once loaded, the earlier save is fine

What new fix files did you add?

Also, @Grey Roger, have you been updating the date in globals.c with your ZIP updates?
I haven't checked, but if you haven't, PLEASE DO! It's important...

have that game saved & have re-started an earlier save & so far everything is fine

I have also noticed that Quests in list are still highlighted as open/unfinished when they have been,
also saved game in Tortuga tavern before taliking to Barbosa to go Isla de Muerta, when re-loaded he does not offer to get treasure but just asks how I am enjoying island, whether these 2 problems are related do not know ?

What quests did not properly close?
Usually if you play through the story properly, they do close when they should.
But some storylines are prone to errors as it is difficult to think through all possible eventualities.

Maybe @Talisman knows more about the specific story point where you are.

The quest book problems sound like the ones in Hoist the Colors - Jack Sparrow Story.

In that story because of the use of the quest book to give general information, rather then being linked to specific tasks ( this in mainly in the Brock-Binkley & Mings Main storyline parts - Not the Pirate Lord Sidequests) - the quest book is structured by subject ( eg Pirate Lords, Mysterious Woman etc. ) rather than the more conventional Quest or Task being undertaken by the player.

This results in some quest book headers having to remain open throughout the whole story ( at least up to the beginning of the Curse of the Black Pearl part - bit where player meets Davy Jones).

So there are some headers that do not get closed. Since no one has gone through and checked it carefully.

The Problem with Barbossa - is probably just a bug - try using a Save before the one you made in the tavern and playing through again and see if that works.

Just to confirm that with the additional fixes in place on top of 7th January 2017 I can load the saved games but the one with reported stuck tabs, blocked item exchange and wasd sail problems shows none of these on loading for me so no joy there. I did try the game from the other thread with stuck tabs & blocked exchange and that does not show any effect on wasd.

I have confirmed by creating a further save with a new game from the 7th Jan plus fixes that it too crashes the 7th Jan without fixes - so it seems there is no backward compatibility and as such it would be better if the save game number was incremented to avoid possible confusion as well as changing the date written to compile.log. Forward compatibility seems OK.
