Need Help new horizion quest porblems

Apart from the minor sound issue (another thread) i got stuck in the new horizons quest and know what events should occur from playing the original game:

1/ quest book won't update in the side quest of the black pearl, in the original game you talk to the ship yard owner about the cursed chest he sends you to the French island (now in the original game a friendly black pearl appears) the quest book doesn't update when talking to the man about the black pearl and how he served on it etc. (you go to the port and meet a friend who tells you more about the black pearl and how in a jungle there is a object that can kill it) this doesn't occur.

2/ the quest just after retrieving the stolen idols the gov sends you to Barbados to collect a prisoner he has escaped you leave (in the original game outside an old man is tired to a post and you rescue him) nothing special occurs?

Has there been a change to the quests or is this a bug?

These things are bugs. They still happen in the Sea Hawk quest. The only buggy part about it is that sometimes the Black Pearl does not appear off Martinique. And the Black Pearl is NOT friendly!

in the original it is, unless you fire at it. So what should i do? does reloading from a point before help?

Reloading from an earlier save should fix it. Sometimes on has to go back to a save from before they arrive at the first island. That is Speightstown in your case.
