Petros: Oops, missed your post as I was writing. I think by 'big pirate' Pieter means 'the big cheese, the pirate-in-chief' rather than anything physical...
 
Nathan: Copying all cases to all anims is not a question of work (now that I do know how) but a question of file size. And if you want to get rid of the ani distinction, we'd have to make a completely new ani file and then change the code for all the stock models.
Certainly doable, but I'm not sure we want that.
Apart from that we'd still need different .ani files pointing to different .an files, because the .an files also contain the skeletons (the bone positons), which are different for men/women and models of different size.
 
Question on female animation for the post build 12.

Will I need to update all my female models on ftp?

Second question, just to do it right:

1 Load character in tool with Woman_sit.an for Danielle clones eg. India
and Man_Woman_sit.an for "male to female conversion" models eg. Claire

2. Save the model and rename.

Is that it?
Am I missing anything?

No, you needn't change anything at all in the models. The *code* needs to be changed to use the new animations. But with the new model system I'm not sure either what we'll have to do...

Sorry, I mean just so both sets of ANIs have the same names for each anim tree, not that all models would refer to the same ANI file.
So like you could give Poortype to a woman or Officiant type (barmaid? whatever it is) type to a man and not have to check sex.

(The poorman type is needed because that's what we use for stunned characters).
 
I've already changed the ani lines in initmodels to refer to the correct animations (for all danielle-based models).
Beatrice since she uses the male skel I've left at man.ani.

I think that is just due to the camera angle, the first being what you see during dialogue, and the second is a first person, screen shot.

About the female models:
I made a new modpack update available, including a lot of female locator fixes and supposedly with almost all women being able to sit properly, except the skirted ones. It might need some testing though.

To High Sea Lass: I am a bit hesitant to try and add locators to files. The last time I tried, I got results that would scare even Doctor Frankenstein. I really hope you would be able to do it. If you could just add the locators to the files, then at least we'd have that fix in the modpack. Then improved versions might replace the old models at some later stage. Adding the locators to the files isn't much work, right? Just an idea; never mind if you don't want to.
BTW: Didn't you have some sort of fixed Fanielle head file or something like that? I thought I once heard you talk about that... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
