New Capture Colony Mod anyone Interested?

Here is what i am tring to do. Instead of just making one colony capturable. Would like to make them all that way. Kinda Like the way pirates! was set up where you could capture the town and make it any nation that u wanted. Not to the Point that you owned it and control every aspect of it. I Think That is where the "buyable" town will come into play.

I suppose it should be reasonably easy. Either add an interface screen after the fort capture or make another talk-in-cabin mod for talking to the fort commander after capturing the fort. The commands for the nation change are already in one of CCC's dialog files.

nice first step,
after that, you could place a own officir init and start collecting money
and maby you could assign a officir who makes new (better stats) ships for ya;)

Yes that is True. That would work. I was thinking the same thing. I think u are right on that had some musings myself along those lines.

Question: Will it have to be a seperate interface mod, or could you add it to the exsisting fortcapture.c
file. I am trying the later to see if it works. Any suggestions here would be a great help

Also with the officer dialog at the fort will it be similar to the ship capture when u talk to the enemy captain?

I thought it might be possible to code in something similar as that, yes. After you capture the fort, you will be put back into the 3D fort again and the fort's commanding officer will come to talk to you about terms. In the dialog, you can tell him you want all loot or that you want to change the town's ownership. If you can't figure it out, maybe you can contact Maximus. He made the talk-with-the-captain mod for captured ships.
 
I think that better person to negotiate capitulation terms would be governor. But, at the other hand, there's no governor in the town...

Just A quck update. As of now my work on this mod has come to a screeching halt. My company merged with another one and i have had to put in 16hr days as of late... I am still going to work on this but it will be postponed for some time. I dont know how long it will be but i will be back on it as soon as possible. anyone that is interested in taking over please do so. Sorry about this i really want to help out here, but right now the time just isnt there. Cheers

I think Johannes and I can take it, we will begin experimenting with a new town model tomorrow, but we need all the help we can get, specially people who can skin and code, anyone interested is free to come.
