Another year means... another bunch of crazy experiments!
This time with some pretty cool and useful results!
Do you remember the previous edition?
We had dozens of li'l boats and explosions being triggered by... nothing.
This was not without purpose though. A purpose which we are now very close to achieving.
A Kraken attack, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest style!
The second of our experiments involves particle effects on ships.
At first, they went all over the place:
But eventually, we managed to attach them:
This works for other particles too, such as... FIRE!
On high ship speeds, we get a nice airplane effect:
In our next test, we attached smoke to ALL ships at sea, not just the player one:
We can even put more than one effect on one ship:
Can you guess where this is leading?
Don't tell me you didn't figure it out!
However, combining both experiments, we're not sure if this ship will ever complete test trials:
As you can see, after six years of modding Pirates of the Caribbean, we still haven't lost steam.
However, we're always looking for more people to join in our fun,
so don't be shy and drop by our PiratesAhoy! Community forums!
