i mean i can change starting ship money..name skills...the basic stuff really but i love the idea of admirals and naval missions!!!!
i would love to help...i am an experianced modder as i said so have no problems with getting that side of it....also i have alot of free time as i am at skool so at least a few hours a day...if i can have the basics and how to make quests, dialog, characters then i could help narrow down the production time....

Welcome thevegimobil! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
Have a look at <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=11382&view=findpost&p=231923" target="_blank">this introduction to quest writing</a> by Short Jack Gold.

If you want help with the modding, first you should think of what exactly you want to do, then we can give some suggestions on how to do it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I just checked out that link Pieter.

I've done two dialogs by hand so far <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
I did not know about a DialogMerge program. I'll have to try that out! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

What that program does is to take the texts from the .h files and sticks it into the .c files;
it's easier to understand that way, but doesn't support translations anymore. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

After one has finished editing does it reverse the process, separating the files back into "c" and "h" files?

Another thing, I really have to start using Notepad ++ more.
Tracking dialog lines without line numbers is tedious!

Nope; it doesn't separate it back, unfortunately. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
Notepad++ is a good program; the colour coding is also useful. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
