1. @ the dock, when the guy asks to show you around, don't bother.
2. loot houses in St. Pierre and La Francois (gov rooms, stores, play cards/dice, ect.) get money saved up any way you can (you need 17K for a boat)
3. try to have a harpoon as your selected weapon.
4. go to the cave/grotto (you fight later here) store your sword, $ and trinkets in the chest (or sale your trinkets and put $ there) (save)
5. go to the Gov of St. Pierre and get arrested. once out of jail talk to your brother, go back to the gov (who gives u a pistol, sword and armor)
6. find a guy walking between the church/gov house toward the street merchant he will ask you to get him a whore and deliver her to his residence @ 11pm (gives you 6K$), (save)
7. go to the brothel madam and ask for the girl (lowest price you can get for her is 2,500$) when that amount is agreed upon leave the brothel and go to the cave/grotto and get the rest of your $ you left their from earlier and then try to raise $, @ 23:00 go to the brothel, get the girl and deliver her to the house. (save)
8. continue trying to up your $$ anyway you can or start missions below.
9. go to the harbor master which starts the daughter rescue.
10. find the guy near the city gate with the rifle and talk to him (save)
11. go out in the jungle (loot the corpse) get a big reward later
12. go to the cave/grotto and kill all 7 Indians.
13. escort the father/daughter and other person back to the city (get reward) (save)
14. go to the store and sell the loot from the corpse, then start the new assistant mission
15. go to La Francois and find the assistant (he doesn't want to work there anymore)
16. go back to St. Pierre store and tell the owner (he tells you to find a new one)
17. go back to La Francois, talk to the bartender and then have a few drinks till 3 guys show up asking for the store job. (choose the one on the left next to the stairs)
18. take him back to St. Pierre store (get a reward, then wait an hr and get another reward) (save) hopefully you will have raised 20+K $
19. go to the shipyard and buy a ship with your $. (after I bought the boat I have 11K left over)
20. go to tavern, talk to the bartender, he will tell you to talk to the guy near the stairs @ the table, talk, but don't pay.
21. go to the store buy 50food/50medicines and return to the tavern and talk to the sailor and pay him, you now have your crew.
22. Navigator Mission (I HAVE NO IDEA, BOTH of the tutorials I have read 1 says do one thing the other says do something entirely different.) feel free to add anything I might have left out, so far this is my easiest way of getting the boat and not having to do other jobs like (Rum for the Bartender and others).

the rum mission isnt so bad wait till 7pm and sail north till you see the ship SAIL TO ghost then longboat to the ship the man onboard will ask for password.
thats where I failed cause I click to fast and didnt use the right password.

The Navigator mission is more like a long tutorial..
After running around the town (don't bother in the buildings) you will find one person ( it is always a different person) they will tell you he is on jail
after talking to the man in jail go to the bank
Talk to him you have two choices
- Pay him ten thousand and release the navigator (easy way)
- Retrieve the engineer and sneak him into town ( Save alot before trying)

I am past this stuff and the missions are brutal. Time lines are too quick and I am on easy..
One mission was to destroy a pirate ship ordered by the Gov from Port-Au-Prince
but i had 18 days to find him on the coast of Basse-Terre.. Never found him.

Edit: sell the gold earrings to the banker for 35 doubloons

after talking to the bartender and sailor, you got to find Maurice, (screenshot) he gives u the quest.
I am now up to 54K. slowly working my way up, have sunk bout 4 pirate ships, and 1 Spanish. just did an escort mission where you're promised 10K+ in pesos but you don't get it, you get a tobacco ship to hit that's worth a lot of $.
 
Honestly the fort wine mission is super easy and requires only one day to complete. I start it early on, then come back right before I buy my boat. Having 60K and 30 leftover after buying your ship is a pretty big deal early on.

Your decision however. I just think any guides should include it.,

You missed an interesting and easy quest which will give you a good money. Go to the fort and talk to the guard. For maximum profit this quest you need to perform the last.
 
It is a wine quest that will net you 60000 pesos. But you will need 33000 investment.
When you have 33000, go the to fort and talk to the soldier standing guard, he'll ask for a bottle of european wine sobuy from any vendor for 700 pesos. Wait until tomorrow to go to the top of the fort to deliver it and get 1000 in return. Then the solder ask for 60 bottle, accept it and go to any vendor to ask. You'll have to pay 1000 for the info, and another 2000 later for introduction note. Go get the wine after you have the note, 60 bottles cost 30000. Deliver the wine and get your 60000 pesos.
 
save before taking the whore quest. sometimes the pimp lady gives you the expensive price (5K+) and nothing you can do about it.
 
The old man that offer you a tour guide, if you took his offer, he'll be back after you met your brother to give you a chance at fencing lesson. By equipping the harpoon, you can make the fight last longer and help advance your fighting skill. Don't need to worry about weapon since he'll lend you one to practice. The best part is you don't get killed so if your health is low, either use a health item or ran around to recover. Do your best to defend yourself and not defeat him too soon to max out weapons and defend training.

And if you feel daring, try this. On the first day talk to the waitress in tavern until she offers herself to you. Get the room for 100 pesos. The room may contain loots so remember to look around after you finish your stuff. Three scenarios might happen
1/ The girl come up and have sex with you.
2/ She had sex with you then took half of your money and you can't do anything about it.
3/ A guy come up to rob you.
Number 1 and 2 are rarely happen in the beginning of the game, but just in case you should hide your money in the night stand at the corner. Number 3 is most common now so prepare yourself for a fight. After you killed him and looted his corpse which might contain good items, go down and talk to the new waitress. She doesn't know anything about this scam so just let it go. You can repeat this with the new waitress too for training the next day.
