Abandoned Multiplayer mod?

HA, i think thats more bethsofts than akellas choice, not that it matters to much the outcome would be the same :?
 
But then u got disney, which screwed up a lot of the places and ships that were going to be in Sea Dogs2....and When Disney did this they chose it not to me MP b/c they wanted "Saftey and Security" for the Children...boohoo...and blah...so i highly doubt that this can be done, although i wish it can. on the other hand, is anyone close to gamespy? I remeber hearing that a somegames were originally SP but now MP too...take example Mafia soon...if we beg disney, Akella and Bethedkfsa <-LOL) maybe they'll do it! :cheers

You can't wait until it's finished? But nobody is even working on it! :shock

pieter is right u really need to think logical about this. The whole server side would have to be wrote. Every single code file would probably need altering in some way. This like basically rewriting the whole game. And then ur going to need a server to host it??

Plus I really dont think It can be done without the engine source code
 
It ıs very diffucult to make sure...
But ıf you can make multiplayer mod , you able to earn money like MMORPG games. :)))

If someone make multiplayer mode on POTC ı will play all the time!!!
It may be very enjoyable together...

True but Doing stuff like TV/Film and game stuff myself you are digging yourself into a Big Legal pit. Firstly to make a game multi player you would have to ask akella. Plus You say you can make money from it but you cant charge people to play a game in Alpha. Plus everybody playing would have to be running the same version.
 
We can't legally make money from the game in the first place; we have no rights to the game.
But I don't think Multiplayer CAN be done anyway, so that's nothing to worry about.
 
We don't actually have the source code yet.
And even once we do, don't count on it within a couple of years.
We first need to actually get things working properly.
 
Would be, yes. But would require a tremendous amount of work once we get that source code.
