Fixed Mooring locator for Cape Francos is a long way from land

I started a new game and it work well, but only in free play mode!
In the standard storyline the landing icon, at cape Francos, is missing!

No, it's Playa de Sierra Maestra on Cuba which is disabled, probably by @Bartolomeu o Portugues to prevent anyone from seeing the warehouses outside Santiago except when playing the "Bartolomeu" story. So for "Ardent", I enabled it only when the player gets the Cuba map, and also rerouted some locators within "StartStoryline.c" so that you go from Santiago to Playa de Sierra Maestra (or the other way) via the standard town exit and still don't see the warehouses.

But Cape Francos is not disabled as far as I can see, which is why you can go there in free-play, and I didn't need to do to Cape Francos what I did to Playa de Sierra Maestra. All I did was move the locator so that the mooring point is closer to shore. And it works in "Ardent" as well as free-play. (Last night I also checked in "Ardent" whether I can go there by worldmap, drop straight to 3D sailing and be right in place to moor.)

In fact, Cape Francos can't be disabled because it's necessary for one of the treasure quests:
Lost Treasure on Hispaniola (Cap Francos) | PiratesAhoy!

@ANSEL: which locator file are you using now, the old one or the new one? The old one puts the mooring point way out to sea and I had trouble finding it, which is why I moved the locator closer to shore. This, of course, means that anyone who is used to going out to sea to moor at Cape Francos might miss the repositioned mooring point.

That is the same as the one I posted, only now things have moved, it's in post 18, not post 9. ;)

But I agree, start a new game and see if it works. Because I can't imagine why a locator file somewhere as general as "RESOURCE\MODELS\Islands\Gaity" should work in some storylines and not others...

I have checked my game and it is up to date. I started a new game (Free play- Will Turner)
but I have the same messages again and Im stuck. Different: This time I saw the landing icon,
but got stuck the moment I enter it.
It turns out to be a random thing now.I have tried a several times now and sometimes it work,
sometimes not.
Ps. Its very hard to find the landing icon at Cape Francos.

On the other hand, I started a new game of "Tales of a Sea Hawk", went straight to Cape Francos (Silehard can wait, this is more important xD) and had no trouble mooring.

@ANSEL: could you zip and post one of your savegames in which you are having trouble with the locator?

It is indeed hard to find the landing icon at Cape Francos if you don't have a map of Hispaniola to allow you to "Sail-To" it. The beach is very long and you need to be at the right point. The original mooring point was even worse, being way out to sea, so you couldn't even find it by cruising close inshore along the beach. That, at least, should now be possible.

One possible difference in my installation is that I didn't install the 14th February version as an update to an existing installation. I started with a whole new installation of the stock game, then ran the 14th February installer on that, followed by copying in the 18th February zip update.

Technically both a "clean install" and "update" should yield the same results.

Your changed locator file is in the latest ZIP and not in the actual Installer yet. So as long as the ZIP is installed last, it must always be the same.

@Pieter Boelen I experience it as a rare random bug. It has worked well in the last three games
when I checked it. But as I say its a random bug, most of the time its OK,and
then suddenly it stuck you.

Im almost and just almost sure I started a new game after the latest update.
So to be 100% sure I will start a new game again.
Thanks. I'll mark it as "Cannot Confirm" for now.

Meanwhile, I've been replaying "Ardent" twice to check that what I've been doing to it works as intended - twice, once as each of the different starting characters - and as usual had no trouble mooring at Cape Francos. (Well, apart from Cape Francos being a long beach, so after starting a bit too far to one end I had to cruise along the beach a while to find the mooring point. But find it I did. ) So I agree, "Cannot Confirm".

Has anyone else tried visiting Cape Francos after installing the 18th February zip update? I want to know who is the odd one out - @ANSEL for having problems with it, or me for not having problems.
