mixed shot broadsides

guys, i have no idea whether this is common knowledge or even may be in the manual, but.....

if u initiate a broadside then right away press a different type of shot u will get a mixed shot broadside fired. like the npcs sometimes do.

it works best after testing with the larger ships with more guns as u have to be fast on the keyboard and the less guns the faster u have to be it seemed to me.

40 gun frigate mixed broadside is quite easy to accomplish and u get a rough 60/40 50/50 split most times. havent tried doing a 3 parter yet.

seems to be a knock on effect from the "rolling" broadside u get from the larger ships.

I caught a lot of mixed broadsides in my career, but seldom ever fired one. I prefer one or two salvos with full shot at long range to slow down the enemy, then to move in and kill his crew with grapeshot. Except, of course, if I´ve got a real superior enemy, trying to take down his sails is usually a good idea.
