Hi all!

I have tried to play AOP, but it keeps crashing to the desktop, so now I'm fed up with that game. Instead I have installed POTC (and the build13 mod) in the hope of being able to play without having the game crashing every 5 minutes! But I need a map! apparently the producers didn't think it was a good idea to include one in the manual..... Do you know where I can find one?

In game use "F2" key to co to character screen. At the top, and extreme right find the "Map" button.
Enjoy!

There are several maps on the Maps page on <a href="http://pieter.piratesahoy.org" target="_blank">my site</a>, including an island map. There are several new islands added in Build 13, so the old map isn't correct anymore. Do you think we should add the map to the Build 13 ReadMe file?

Thanks for the replies!

I'll now roam the waters!

It would be a great idea to add the map to the ReadMe file.

I tried to play the game some years ago(on XBox), but had to give up on it because of the bugs. I hope to be able to enjoy the game now, thanks to the work you modders have done. I have had a look files in the buildinfo folder, and I'm amazed at all the additions/changes that have been made! I'm wondering how you do it. Do you have acces to the source code? Are you C++ gurus? hmm, well, perhaps I had better stop wondering and go and fire some cannons instead!

Please note that the Build 13 Beta versions do still contain bugs. They're mostly playable, but still contain some bugs that we're working on fixing. Build 12.1 should be completely playable though.

Modding this game is easy: The game has an open program folder. If you have a look at the PROGRAM folder and open any of the files in Notepad, you'll see that they contain editable code. So we're editing these files pretty thoroughly. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I agree thats a good idea <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

And i agree with Pieter - if you want a smoother game experience(hardly any odd bugs turning up), then stick with 12.1(full) for now. build13base+betas does add loads of great new stuff(ontop of what 12.1 does!), but at this momment it can be unpredictable, and is going through a very heavy playtesting/bugfixing stage at present. It will be awesome when ready though(hopefully not much longer) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
