Hi,

I am currently trying to skin a Manowar and I think I have found the correct textures (bortoutmanowar4.tga.tx, etc) but whenever I replace one of these files there is no change on the ship ingame. Also deleting anything with manowar/manovar in it results in no change to the ship. I am working from the correct folder as I was doing something similar to the SOL64, and this showed up perfectly ingame.

Thanks.

Uh? You change the Manowar's skin and it does NOT change in the game? Which game version are you working on? The Manowar4 is only in Build 14 Alpha 7 Plus, so I am assuming you're using that?

Yes, I am using Build 13 Final though with additional ships installed into it. As I said changing the textures in the Ships folder seems to have no impact at all on the Manowars.

Do you have the TX Converter and GM Viewer? Both are available <a href="http://www.s31clan.com/privateftps/pietersmods/tools.htm" target="_blank">here</a>. Try to load your modified Manowar in the GM Viewer and see if the change did take effect there. You can also use that program to check which ship uses which texture file.

Ah right thanks I was looking for these, it works now, seems the Ship of the Line has a totally different name altogether.

You got it to work? Congratulations! Any chance of a screenshot of your work? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

It's nothing spectacular, it's for my own personal ship that I've been modifying and to make it more unique I wanted unique skin for it.

It's the Ship Of The Line, although now it's a "Heavy Manowar", heavy how I don't know because they're all heavy, but it's slightly faster with a larger cargo hold and 42lbs as standard.

It is the idea yes, originally I was using Manowar 2 (I think it's this one) and then used the Ship Of The Lines black pattern over the green and also it's figurehead which obviously Manowar2 lacks.

Edit - The main bug is the different mapped parts where the rigging is connected to (If you know where I mean) it's quite visible on this shot at least.

looks pretty good. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Looks nice. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Thanks, it certainly wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, and sure beats the game crashing because the rigging doesn't work with one another.

How <i>do</i> you use the GM viewer to see textures? I can only see the model in plain grey.

thx yet again.

In GMViewer, below the file view window where you select the gm models, is another one for selecting the texture directory.

You have to point to (select) where the textures are located.
