You done good.
You have Intel graphics, which is just the wrong thing to have. Swiftshader will let your computer run POTC, but it will run badly.

Another thing that should help is the link in post #2 about heap corruption. Please read that thread and try the things in it. I use them and have noticed some improvement.

One last thought. Since you have a desktop maybe it has an AGP slot in the motherboard that would let you use a real video card.

SwiftShader should be installed to your main game folder.

If it works as we hope, it'll give you much better performance when used instead of SwiftShader, only the sea will not look quite as good as usual.
