Little too ambitious maybe?

First of all, I'd like to say how impressed I am with the sheer amount of work you've done to PotC, bought them game when it was released, stumbled across your build updates whilst checking for patches.

Having played Age of Pirates for a while I fancied going back to PotC since frankly AoP gets boring very fast since it's all sea and very little story.

Your builds fixed a few really annoying features, added some nice textures....I'm really impressed, but.....

I tried to get my friends to try it, and even myself.....you have so many new features that there seems to be too much going on, I'll give an example.

On my first attempt I was attacked 8 times before I set foot inside Oxbay by rogue pirates, granted I eventually would be able to dispatch them easily but honestly it was very overwhelmig, and I was constantly in combat.

Maybe that's a pirate town for you, but this is Oxbay, an English port, that kind of thing wouldn't be too commonplace.

Moving the Oxbay cinematic that used to kick int he moment you entered your ship has also caused some problems, upon entering my ship I am instantly blasted to smitherines by the port, have tried different flags etc, no joy, no contraband on board etc.

Restarted the whole thing and this time the fort didn't fire on me....

All in all it took nearly 3 hours to get past the starter town and cinematic sequence.

Several friends tried the mod and were met with similar problems, I suspect more experienced players wouldn't have this problem.

Some things I can't live without, for example the mouse sensitivty slider, others are too much.

Keep up the good work, I think you've done wonders with it, but may have gone a little overboard and made the game somewhat innaccessible to all but the hardened PotC pirates.

did you try all the flags? cos i don't know why, but i never get fired upon. neither by the french, nor the fort.

maybe you could better choose in the beginning screen the Nathiel Hawk flag and start at at a non french island?

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> There are 2 files, Buildsettings.h and Internalsettings.h, where you can change settings to your liking! So the attacks you're getting in Oxbay can be turned off and getting blasted while leaving Oxbay, you're flying the wrong flag. I've not played the game for a while but I think you find the first file in the mainfolder and the second in the Program folder! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

Thanks for the suggestions, you do yourselves real credit by offering suggestions rather than burning me at the stake.

We were also experiencing a problem with the menu system whereby the buttons would refuse to work, from F2 to the save buttons at the main menu.

For the time being we went back to build 12 and had quite a bit more success, although it was for testing purposes mainly.

Well....at least ye dinnae criticize me gunsmoke and fire, cause if ye had i'd have either keelhauled ye ya scurvey knave or fire'd ye out me guns me self. Yarr! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />

I never criticise anybody for anything.........except some "Modders" for putting in crap and they get pissed off for me doing so! The Best and Stable version is 13/3! You can play up to 14/6 if you don't mind a few BUGS. I stay well clear what follows after that! Pieter Boelen our Main Person keeping all this together is away and will be back end of August. Things should get a lot better than! You can trust me I don't tell fibs..........I'm not a modder or progammer or anything else, just a Person trying to enjoy a good game and this is the best! I tried them all, even the org. game is a lot better than some of the crap appearing after that!
Look at my signature, all the info you ever wanted is there! Hope you'll enjoy the game!!

normally, yes, but not if you have the random relations turned on in the buildsettings.h file.
