@Bartolomeu o Portugues: having played a bit further, I now agree that Elting should lose the Spanish LoM. It should happen either when he kills the Vice Admiral, or when he's in Kralendijk townhall and learns that El Diablo has been sighted, or at some point in between. The whole reason for "The El Diablo's Coming Back" is that the Spanish know that Elting has double-crossed them and they've sent Chico Cois to arrest him.
The English LoM is another matter. They might suspect that Elting destroyed the cannons on Isla Mona but have no solid evidence, and the next time they see him, he's helping their fleet against La Couronne. One of the ships in their fleet is commanded by Jeremy Tripper, who will recognise Elting's ship, so they definitely know that it's him. So the English have no reason to cancel Elting's LoM and a very good reason to keep it.
Also: at case "quitter_alicebis", which is where you've joined Bartolomeu and are about to sail out of Alice Town on his caravel, how about switching flag to Portugal? You probably moored your own ship at Puerto la Cruz, so you're probably flying a Spanish flag. You're now on Bartolomeu's ship and he certainly wouldn't be flying a Spanish flag while mooring at an English port!
