I really wish there were some kind of demo or something I could load onto my computer just to see how it runs. I really didn't want to chunk $35 or more on a game I wasn't sure my system could handle. But, I might be willing to risk $10 on eBay for an unopened box.

Then again, if I'm thinking $35 is up there in price, a monthy subscription fee-based game probably isn't for me.

EDIT: I've also been reading about how the POTBS community is shrinking. Is that true?

$10 sounds a little too cheap to me - isn't the game supposed to come with a free month's play, or something? It still sells for $60+ in the stores around here.

If my system could reasonably handle Age of Pirates on mid-grade graphics settings, should I have many problems running PotBS?

Excellent site! I've always been frustrated that the minimum requirements stated on the game boxes are often not even close.

Sadly, I failed in one aspect: Video card is a 256 MB ATI Radeon 9550 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />.

I wouldn't buy an MMORPG on eBay unless you're completely sure it's a new one, because if you buy it for $10 but it's been used, then its nothing but discs for you, you'd have to buy a copy again to get an account, as the one on that game would already be taken.
