You want to be careful installing fix upon fix. Some fixes might not be compatible with certain game versions and would need to be merged in manually, instead of just extracted.

How do i use the compass?

Its totally confused me.

How do you use it? You don't need to. As soon as you get the compass in your inventory and you reload to another location, Isla de Muerte is available. It will show up on the 3D worldmap as well as on the Map interface screen in the F2 menu. You don't need to actually use the compass; you just need to have it.

is getting the compass from gibbs turn into some kind of quest or something? or does it just open up the island for u to walk around on

it opens up the island. a topic's been put up with a link to where you can download it. try checking that one out!
