Hello All, <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

My problem is that I am having with the game is that im at age 30 and in fine health and that I have just found my first family member.

My question is whether or not there is enough time in the game to rescue all four family members before retirement or old age.

Thanks.

I don't think there's enough time in the game, regardless of the fact that you may select Medicine as your skill.

You can complete all the tasks in the game within the time period, that's not what I mean.
What I do mean, is that you're always under pressure, against the clock, to get things done within the alloted time limits.
This doesn't contribute to a very relaxing environment. You can't say to yourself, "I think I'll go and explore the coast of the Mainland on my next voyage", as this will eat into your time before you become old and decrepit and you'll then be unable to complete the main quests. I personally think Sid dropped the ball here. The concept of aging is great, but it happens far to quickly.
The only option is to explore that mainland coast on your next game start, but it's a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul.

And yes I've heard all the stuff about how you have more time in the remake than the original, but hey, the original time scheme could have been the wrong way to do it also... Two wrongs don't make a right.

I like the aging rate as it is. I think it gives you a sense of urgency which I find to add another element to the game. It keeps you from `dilly-dallying` about and keeps you on task. By "on task" I don't mean on quest, but definately moving towards fame and fortune, however you decide to achieve that.

And yes, in a career, you have time to make it all the way. I've done it.

Coconut Monkey,

My reason why its slow for you:

- Always check out the news if you find a port, you always get something to view about.

- Sailing is sometimes slow so you might not be taking advantage of clouds and your best sailing points.

- Big ships is not necessary (put it this way, I use a Mail Runner and I can take care of Montalban's 300 crew Flag Galleon and a Large Frigate with 250 crew without too much difficulty).

But yea, 10 years you shoulda been able to get 2 or 3 families and done some other things too, so what have you done within the 10 years (game time)?

There is that one game Super Trainer:

You can set to immortality, just like Sea Dogs or Pirates of the Caribbean. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Thanks Python,

If you hear of a trainer that keeps the aging process, but slows down how quickly you age, then let me know about that one.

Thanks Guys your advice has been really helpful.

Also to Captain_Python you should'nt cheat it completely ruins the game and the challange of it. But thanks anyways.
