Is it possible to kill all the soldiers in Maracaibo?

I sneaked into Maracaibo, was discovered, and am now fighting soldiers with my fighters; however, they keep respawning. Is the respawning endless, or are they picked from a fixed lot of soldiers? If it's not endless, I figure it's a good way to gain personal points.

You're right mate. Its a GREAT way to get better fighting skills and level up. However, they will keep spawning.

I usually try to move my party close to the gate during these type of fights, and I save a bunch. If I lose someone I absolutely want to keep, I go back to the previous save. Once were pretty much out of health potions, we get out a town. Same technique is good in caves. I will sometimes go back into a cave and piss off the undead, 3 to 6 times in a row depending on how I'm set for potions and also how bad ass the skels are - they get progressively harder to kill each time you go back in.

This is also a good way to get rid of disloyal officers you don't like. At least they were good for something. If they live, they prove their worth despite their rebelious nature.

Yes; however, I can't enter my ship. I did manage to get out of town via the gates, as you suggested.

Oh I see, you entered the town by sea. In that case you need to go somewhere that you can wait for midnight to pass. Go out of the town (haven't tried going in a tavern and waiting but it might work too). After midnight comes, the guards will be at a minimum and they wont attack unless you are on hostile ground with that country. Get to your ship and leave town. Also your sword must be sheathed to board your ship or go out the gates.

I managed to get onto my ship after leaving the town via the gates and then reentering it. After doing so, the port is unlocked. Must be some kind of a bug.
