Interesting Mod Tidbit from Seaward

Kazeite actually put transparent windows on his Black Pearl in the Build.
Filesize isn't that much of a problem anymore.
Build 14 is going to be absolutely huge anyway; at least a 1 GB download.
What's the difference between really big and a bit bigger still? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
It's too late to make it small... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
Anyway, this sounds pretty darn good. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

Transparencies don't work on characters though.

since the build mod dont surpass 2 GB, it is ok, because the patience may be worth it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Your failure to get transparency masks working may be related to coversion to .tx format, <b>Maturin</b>. In short, .tga files must be converted using specific values in TX Converter, which I don't recall at this point <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> <b>Pieter</b>, could you remind us what options should we use to convert .tga to .tx with transparency mask?

Yes, I'm aware of the different formats, I tried them all from DXT-1 - DXT-5 A4R4G4B4 A1R5G5B5 and so on, no luck.

We may want to just hit up our russian friends to see if they can give us pointers, or just tear apart thier ship mod pack and poke around at the new textures.

Set "Output texture format for with alpha channel images" to something that has
"4bit alpha" or "8bit alpha" in it. I also recommend setting the "Output texture for
without alpha channel" to the same. That way you are SURE the alpha channel is included.
