Install Problems

Hi,

When I try to install Build 13 onto a Fresh POTC Install, It gives me an error notice. It tell me it cannot install to the POTC Folder, I tried cancellig and retrying the build 13 installation, No luck, So I checked the POTC folder properties, It was on Read-Only, I unchecked this. The Install worked fine afterwards, Then when it reached the file shadow.tga or something Similar to that name, It gave an error saying that the Build 13 installation encountered a problem and needed to close. I tried re-installing, yet it complained it couldn't install to the POTC folder, it repeated this. Sometimes it let me through and every time it Encountered a problem at the file shadow.tga. Now I have half an installation of build 13 installed onto my POTC Game.

Any ways I can somehow get it installed?

I downloaded Build 14_Full from Pieter's Pirate Page.

This is frustarting, What do I do?

Hmm, that does sound odd. Did you have any problems in your download? Perhaps if it was interrupted, the install file became corrupted.

BTW, did you download Build13_Full? I think the Build 14 is call "alpha", not "full". If you did attempt to download Build 14, I would try reinstalling the game and then installing Build 13. Build 14 is pretty unstable at this point.

What Version is your Stockgame?
I've got the US version and find after the Stockgame install
I make sure it starts ok! Having done that next is Build 12.1,
again make sure it works! Next is Build 13 and the updates 1 and 2.
Make sure it works and than follow with Build 14 etc.
Every time you install an update run the Runme.bat and do follow the

Ah, Corrpution! Thats probabaly it!

I did install Build 13_Full, But my Wireless Connection is Unatable and has been for quite awhile, It shuts off on heavy download sessions, I use a download manager to get through these Big Downloads, Probabaly during a connection loss the file shadow.tga became corrputed. Makes Sense. Thanks.

And I use the English Version of POTC, I got it from a guy in Ireland, But I don't know nothing else. I managed to play with Build 12 before, After a few times of installing it wrong that is. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I'll re-downlaoad the Pack, And see what happens then.
