Not only that! At the moment you are even able to walk THROUGH the buildings (right through the walls, that is <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> ). To prevent this I need a patch AROUND a charactermodel, not the usual walkpatch tied to the locationmodel. Haven't found anything on this yet.

The CANNONDIRECTION problem should also be solved by changing the locator axis coordinates.
 
Yes, thank you. Basically all problems except the "walkthrough walls" are solved <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />
 
With the "walkthrough walls" problem I haven't much hope, because normally the game does it with .ptc files - so we'd either have to generate them dynamically or find an altogether new way to manage collision.
One thing we could do is reserve certain spots for building (for example make a "settlement site" from a clone of a jungle location), and modify the patch permanently so you can never walk into the spots where buildings will go.
(And the same would work with furniture in rooms, too.)
 
I feared as much. Do you happen to know something about the collision of two characters? There is a difference between the "space" that characters with drawn and undrawn blades occupy: while you can squeeze your avatar through a crowd with a sheathed blade you can't pass with sword drawn. Maybe one could enlarge that occupied space to the size of a building?
If not never mind, after all it is only an appearance detail and doesn't really affect the gameplay.

You won't hear news of this project for the next two weeks. But that's only due to the fact that we go on vacation (camping in Kent <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> ) and not because the mod is stuck. On the contrary, progress is good and it will probably be finished in some weeks. (apart from certain "appearance details" <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> )
