one thing praetorians definately has going for it is the sound. music is amazing, and the rain often made me check outside if it wasn't actually raining. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> it has a good attention for detail. for example, if you see birds flying overhead, it probably means units walked through a forest in the direction the birds came from. AI doesn't pay attention to the birds though.
pikemen are good in several formations depending on the situation. defensive formation is good against arrows, but it takes more stamina to run in that formation. stationary formation is like a nuke against cavalry, but it's weak against archers. also, they can't walk through forests. they're awesome help when the gate of a fort gets bashed in. just put them in the gates and nothing gets through, but give them lots of ranged backup, since everything is coming for them. a V-formation of two groups behind a gate is twice as good.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yeah; IG has birds and things, tho they dont behave so intuitivly like that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> and brilliant sound, but that grouping ability really sounds handy. IG has autosave but I also save when I invade a territory cos as I said above, I normally go in outnumbered and outgunned. I always find attacking easier than defending; attacking you have control of the field, defending, your relying on the other side to make the first move. Also, attacking also has more reward! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Is V form what used for charging? Im not surer about charge forms in IG; line gives you more leanience but column is more lethal.
Are pikemen the infantry equivalent to lancers? I must say I find long weapon melee very handy for attacking, but less useful for combat; and tho thyre cheap they take longer to train. This is why I use Hussars and other swordmen. But I can imagine how lanced infantry might work better. What forms are there in PR then? I saw it yesterday for a fiver and wouldve got it if I had enough; I might today tho after what youve told me. IN IG all you have are single line, double line, column and square. Unit seperating is downt to you so I guess I can say you can change the close and loose formation.

Deep one, that looks like quite an impressive game, but I must say I like historical battling first and foremost; the sound of the Grenadier Song as they march, the mud on the uniform, the black powder leaving its notorious mist hanging over infantry, the wonderful woody clang of arrows being released from archers. IN other words, Yeah its kinda cool. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
