I have a problem

Hello !
I have a problem with the new Build 14 Alpha 9, the game works correctly, but I can't go on the decks ! When I try, I have a black screen, or I just see the sea and anything else ! What is the problem please ?
Another question : I saw that the quest The Legend of Jack Sparrow was fixed and updated; I don't understand really good english, so does it mean <span style='color:#000000;background:#000000'>that we don't fall in any trap anymore ? I had this probleme with the Alpha 8.5.</span>

What happens when you go on the decks? Or can't you find the button for it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

There's a couple of intentional traps in the Legend of Jack Sparrow quest, but it should be working better than before. Actually, Short Jack Gold has made some later improvements still that will be included in the next patch as soon as possible, hopefully this weekend. You might want to wait until that time before giving the quest a try.

You didn't remove the RESOURCE\MODELS\Locations\decks location AFTER installing Alpha 9, did you?
That's the only reason I could think of for that happening, because the correct files are included in the download. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

In that case, it's time for ye olde <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=9234" target="_blank">error logging again</a>. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
Tell us what you get in your system.log, compile.log and possible error.log after the error occurred again.

Actually Pieter if you read is reply again, he didn't not remove the deck folder. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" /> One way to fix this is to unpack build 14 alpha 9 to a seperate folder then do this;

- go to ...RESOURCE\MODELS\Locations and delete the decks floder
- then go where you unpack your build 14 alpha 9 at the same location and copy the decks folder and paste it where you delete the other one.
- don't overwrite it, delete completly the folder in orther for this to be fix.

Actually come to think of it, if you didn't remove that folder that's mean there's a possibility you didn't remove the ...Program folder and the ...RESOURCE\INI folder, meaning it will cause trouble for you later on. If you <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?s=&showtopic=12809&view=findpost&p=307383" target="_blank">Click here</a> you'll get all the information you need for the install. Or do the same thing you did for the decks folder, delete PROGRAM folder and INI folder then replace them back with the one from the build.

Ah, yes. Not removing the decks folder won't cause a problem. However, not removing the PROGRAM folder will cause horrible bugs. It is really important to actually follow the instructions and not just extract the file.

Huh ? Had I to remove the PROGRAM folder before installing Build 14 Alpha 9 ? If yes, it wasn't in the installation instructions !

What installation instructions have you been referring to then? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
<a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?s=&showtopic=12809&view=findpost&p=307383" target="_blank">These</a> are the ones you should be using and it's definitly in there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
