In Speightstown after you say yes to Beckett -- Let Beckett leave the tavern -- then walk to your ship - do not use the Fast Travel.

Check my last post on the previous page; that'll work on anny savegame or right after starting a new game.
It won't make sense story-wise, but at least you'll have the Pearl.

Alternateively, set ENABLE_CHEATMODE to 1 at the bottom of PROGRAM\InternalSettings.h and start a new Hoist the Colours storyline game.
When you enter the Tortuga tavern, don't talk to Mr. Gibbs. A "Random Drunk" with a familiar face has appeared at another table.
Talking with him allows you to skip straight to some other parts of the storyline, such as the opening of CotBP ("Grand Entrance").
