How to really kick ur reputation to a nice level?

The _best_ reputation i had was "Bloke". Dunno what i'm actually doin' wrong, but it usually soon falls back. Maybe that spanish dudes don't like playing cat'n'mice wit' me. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Does spendin' some money to church increase my reputation? How about that trade missions from store owners? What pushes my reputation most?

I spent douzands of hours increasin' my melee skill and _fightin'_ the bad girls in the brothel. But i didn't even get a wet handshack for that marvelous action .... harr haar <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Did you borrow money from the loanshark and not pay him back on time? A lot of people have had trouble keeping their reputation up from that.

Contributions to the church will bring your reputation back up, but it is reported to be a less effective means of doing this in Build games rather than the original. Completing store missions has been reported to be effective, but I rarely do them. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

The thing that seems to be the most effective for getting your reputation up quickly is killing the rapers in the jungle who are chasing the girl. i think im right in saying that smuggling knocks your rep down as well so keep your nose squeaky clean.
Trade missions do bump your rep considerably but take an awfully long time to complete compared to killing those mean ol bar stewards in the jungle. They can be quite lucrative though if you're down on your luck. Oh and never open fire on a neutral ship without hoisting yer happy richard, i went from hero to bloke in one easy step.

Args, ehrm, i borrowed money some time ago and sold it back. But i guess i reloaded an earlier game without repaying the loanshark.
