How to install build 14a7 properly

Well guess ill try it...

- Stock POTC
- (Build 12.1)
- Build 13
- Build 13 update 3
- Build 14 a6
- Back up ie copy sound.h file
- Build 14 a7
- Fix build 14a7 (click link for download)

Do i still need to copy over the older sound.h file to 14a7?
 
- Stock POTC
- (Build 12.1)
- Build 13
- Build 13 update 3
- Build 14 alpha 6
- Build 14 alpha 6 additional
- Copy sound.h file from your pirates of the caribbean/program dir ( BACK IT UP !! )
- Build 14 alpha 7
- Fix build 14a7 - <a href="http://files.filefront.com/Fix_build_14a7rar/;7628796;/fileinfo.html" target="_blank">http://files.filefront.com/Fix_build_14a7r...;/fileinfo.html</a>
- Paste sound.h file you copied back into your pirates of the caribbean/program dir



IT WORKS!!!!

Also has anyone noticed that this game is like nearly twice as hard as it use to be. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
 
What finally got the game working for me was this:

I got that "ERROR: globals.c - line 1, cannot find file sound.h"

I went to globals.c and looked at line 1.

I changed it from "Sound\sound.h" to "sound.h" - took out the "Sound\"
 
Great!... now I can pla... OH WHOOPs! I changed the interface!!! CTD!! eh. Changing the interface in the options menu screws it up badly. Does anyone know how to fix this @#$%^&$??

in the Config.ini change

[codebox]new_interface=1[/codebox]

to

[codebox]new_interface=0[/codebox]

that should fix it.

I have fighting to get Alpha 7 tp work for a week now.

And Mr_Cyberpunk, thank you for telling us where to get the new interface to work, now if only I could find Config.ini it dosn't seems to be there.... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

in the Config.ini change

[codebox]new_interface=1[/codebox]

to

[codebox]new_interface=0[/codebox]

that should fix it.

Can anybody tell me just where this Config.ini is surposed to be?
I can't by the love of all holy find the thing... only a configuration program that will change screen size, sound and the likes.
(using english version here)
 
Whoops made a mistake. The file is not Config.ini (which is strange because most games use that) its actually Options. (File)

it appears in the base directory and can be edited using Notepad.

So far so good, the new interface work well. Thank you, Mr. Cyberpunk. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

But pressing the "Options" button in the main menu cause again a CTD.
So there is still something wrong, I think.
 
didn't you say that you where using a music pack? i've heard the game crashes in the options menu when you change the music when using b14a7. or that might be the main menu, i'm not sure.
 
Yep, but the music pack isn't responsible for this. I've tested it with a "clean" (unmodded) Version of Alpha 7 with normal music, too. But the result is the same. When using the new interface and pressing the "Options" button in main menu, the game crashes to desktop.
Btw. I didn't change the music in options menu. I use the music pack by changing the music_standard.c (thanks to pirate_kk again for converting it).
The crash occurs before I had the chance to change music in options menu.

With old interface everything works well so I think there must be an error concerning the new interface.
 
ahoy lads, I accidentally changed it into the new interface too... but i cant find that config.ini file... where is it located?
