Hironibiki

Landlubber
Hello to all,
they are new and my English is not very good (writes from Italy).. You excuse to me
But as you I love Pirates!
Where I can find a beautiful map from being able to print?
In the confection there is not a map of the cities, but there is the handbook.
There is a Spanish island (don't remember the name) on which I do not succeed to disembark in order to attack it via earth.
As soon as I approach myself within in the port. How I make to attack it with my pirates?

Thanks

Hiron

About the boarding issue: some islands are so small that you can't anchor there. Bombard them a bit from sea by pressing Space or attack ships that leave their harbor. Then, if you've got enough men (100+), you will be given the option to attack the town when you sail into it.

Yup, 'fraid you'll have to march there. If you don't find a way to get the canal dug a wee bit sooner than it was in reality, that is. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="8)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

Y'arr, my girlfriend not be understanding that Panana canal not be built yet <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I've tried to explain to her if she wants to go back in time and build it, she can sail to Panana in Pirates <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Intriguing idea on the one hand, on the other hand Panama would just be another Havana then. Although the difference was much bigger in the original game, when you could more or less easily conquer Havana by attacking from the sea, while if trying to get the city on the Pacific there was always the dreaded real time land battle. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" />

God, I'm glad they are turn based now. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Y'arr, every general worth his weight in gold needs time to enjoy his rum in battle <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Why, I always considered the land battles easier that the attacks from sea. Towns like Havanna or Cartagena could sink a War Galleon with two or three salvoes, I always attacked them by land. Of course, you´ve got to have a big enough crew, about two thirds of the town garrison was the minimum. But I´m glad they made the land battle more convenient, as well.

Ok, admittedly it depended on the circumstances. I most of the time would rather attack a big town from sea with a fast ship and dodge cannon fire to get to the swordplay quickly (especially since I played with skill in fencing most of the time). Of course, if the wind blew the wrong way or you'd try it with a bigger ship, you could quickly find yourself down Davy Jones' locker.

On the other hand, if you'd really managed to get enough crew, an attack on Panama with the silver train in town was not that dreadful. Still, the real time land battle was not for me. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
