Governors Daughters

Please help, ive been practicing the dancing, and when the dance enda i have lots of little hearts around the big heart. But the Governors daughter still says im a rubbish dancer and dosnt give me any reward.
Have i missed something?

ive read that thread already and understand the flourishes etc.
Im getting all the little hearts at the end of the dance but the governors daughter still says im rubbish. You're getting the little hearts, but are you making a lot of mistakes in the begining? Sometimes it takes me a few moves to get started, or if I miss the first move in the pattern it takes me more little hearts to get her to come across.

I think i must be making lots of mistakes. Its official, im the worlds worst dancer!
Im pressing the numerical keys as they light up, im getting the little hearts from the flourishes, but the bigger heart dosnt grow in size at all.

I would take my eyes off the numerical keys if I were you. It may take you a couple of tries, but in the long run it'll be better.

Also, learn some of the patterns. That way you'll know the next move before she gestures and you'll be ready.

General Hankerchief is spot on. It takes practice and practice. I really struggled, try and get a hold of the slippers (this will help a bit if you make a couple of mistakes). I finally danced with everyone whenever I could, stop looking at the number keys highlighting, you have to follow her hand movements. I also found that it took me a while to get my hands in the right position to do some of the moves (I struggled with the "2" and "8" keys), my son mastered it his first time, I think that aslo motivated me to figure it out.

On your other question, I haven't noticed a change in the rewards based on level, I think you just have to nail the dancing bit and you will get the same rewards regardless of the level.

Just keep practicing, if you practice enough you will get used to some of the dance steps and you will get more comfortable.

You are either seeing something wrong, or your game is bugged. If you finished the dance with 20 small hearts around the big heart, it wouldn't make a bit of difference what you did earlier in the dance. You could have walked away from the dance floor and kicked her father in the groin, then come back and mooned everyone else. Then when you went back to dancing and finished like that, you would still win the dance.

However, if you had 20 small hearts around the big heart <b>right before</b> the finish, but you stumbled at the very end, it is possbile that you would not have won the dance.

bigchief has it right, psychoflump, if you step all over her toes at the end it will be THAT impression that causes her to reject you...

Try watching her instead of the keypad as General Handkerchief suggests - watch her - she will make the handsign and then NOD when you should press the key. THAT will make things a bit easier.

And don't stress it, we've all been through it! To my mind the dance is the most challenging of the minigames in SMP - but that does NOT make it bad, only more fun! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
