golden bug questline help.

No real sailing so far - more a teleport from Sullivan Island to Charleston port and back.
Saling would of course be better... :sail
Hmm.... You'd need an island model that has a small island with a reload locator as well.
Perhaps the Isla Muelle one? That one has a small island. It isn't directly across from the port though.
Alternatively, we'd have to ask Armada to whip up a new "Florida island model" to go with the "teleportation arrow" for the worldmap.

Sounds like it isn't quite necessary for your storyline though. It just seems such a shame to not make more use of your brilliant town locations.
Cartagena used to be a quest-only town as well, but it is now available during normal play as well and works as a normal city.

There is already a Charlestown in the game. I didn't want to interfere with that one
There should be no interference. As long as the one is called Charlestown and the other Charleston.
We now also have the island of "Grenada" as well as the "Kingdom of Granada", which is the future Colombia.
Code-wise that is no problem. And since the one will be on Nevis and the other in Florida, I'm sure it can be arranged if we'd want to.

Edit: Also "Las Tortugas" (old name for Cayman) and "La Tortue" (old name for Tortuga).

I'm missing one detective item now, I have feather, compasses, hairpin, glass, scalpel, scissors.
 
Clean paper - I can't check, I'm away from home until sunday night. Maybe Talisman remembers it
(often better than I do) ;)

How about: when the quest is ready let's talk about the possibility again to include it in the real archipelago.
For now it's a complete isolated place.
 
I wonder if some basics concerning equip items have been changed. Npchars don't equip pistol204 (a questgun). I have checked both in Goldbug & WoodesRogers and weapons like pistoldart, pistolthrowaxe have the same problem. :confused:
 
How to access this new Gold Bug stuff in game? It doesn't appear at the new game menu. I know it's not published yet but I have to keep things up to date while translating, so I'm gonna test it. Could you make a little exception for me, Jack Rackham?:oops:
 
Sure, just change StartStoryline_off.c to StartStoryline.c
I'm not sure to which part you are being teleported to. That's easy to change however.
In StartStoryline lines 67 - 75 choose which part you want to play.
It's new stuff from "Chinatown" case "6" but not at all finished yet.
 
Well, very good as always and I'm stuck as always. How to produce the salpeter and sulfur?
 
Yes I know, texts are still missing here & there.
When something takes time: leave & enter again.

1 salpeter: make fire (wood under stairs)
downstairs 2 levers up = closed
upstairs lever down, activates the steplock => water to basin1

small green box downstairs = key to wooden door: items.

open from basin 1 to 2.

open from basin2 to 3,
fill bucket from 3
pour it on the planks

2 sulfur: pull the rope at the baskets
key in the small box on the wall to
clock: item
& to counter in the dark passage.

get water from the well outside
fill up the distillery

a barrel in sulf room

if coal is produced go to the restaurant and find:
Tool
box
ladle

Now you can finish your work in all 3 workshops.

Start sulfur distillery: close the hatch then the steplock.
 
The barrel is beside the door left seen from inside room.
Restaurant items can be found first when you have:

1 placed the salpeter on the planks to dry and tried to pick it up (needs the Tool)
2 smashed the sulfur to yellow dust in sulfur room and tried to pick it up (needs a box)
3 coal has burned to black color and tried to pick it up (needs the ladle)
maybe you should also have filled the sulfur distillery with water (ladder up)

you will get a stringlog (text) after 1 + 2 + 3 to visit the restaurant

the guests have now left and the items are to be found:
Tool to the right in second room
box to the left in last room
ladle in a chest behind the counter

Hope this will do it!

It's not finished, sorry.

But you can start a new game and try the plantation case. Unfinished too I'm afraid. Only way to the black witch is done.
When you get into the plantation there's a lot of hiding places where you are temporary safe.

The maroon part is under work no use to try it.
 
Ok thank you. It was very interesting as always. I'll wait for the next release. And the idea with these restaurant guests is simply brilliant, good job, mate.
