Yesterday, Flying Lab Software and SOE announced that the MMO giants will publish Pirates of the Burning Sea this fall

I agree, Rico. Sounds like lot of problems with the game, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" /> they may push it back yet again. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sad" border="0" alt="icon_sad.gif" />
 
Calm down guys and read the news properly. It's not going via SOE directly, but over the SOE Platform.

Why should a good game turn bad, just because they signed a contract with Sony. If it's true what they say (and so far FLS and Rusty have always been very open and active to the community), then this is not a bad deal. It's actually a good one.
The only way this turns out bad, is if the game is crappy and FLS runs out of money and they sell it to SOE then. But then the game was never worth to start playing it.

And pushing the release date back can actually be a much better thing. Look at Vanguard. They published an unfinished game, because Sigil run out of money. It went bad and they sold it to SOE. SOE are the ones keeping Vanguard alive actually.

I don't like Sony, but I trust FLS. And I will give this game a chance.

Relax and see what the future will bring, no need to jump the gun.

Expanded beta to start soon. I think first wave to include 25000 people, then they will expand over time and put 10000 per wave.

The planned release date is fall 2007 now.

F2P = free to play
P2P = pay to play
Unless theres been some huge secret and dramatic changes that none of us have heard about it's still going to be pay to play,as in a monthly fee.

Pirates of the burning sea sounds like a challenge for me. Well, I signed up for beta. Well, if the game is worht playing I will start a career as a pirate there <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Maybe we will see each other.... maybe as allies maybe as enemies. I will name my character Lino en Kuldes. See ya in the closed or in the open beta fellers.
