GM viewer

Captain of "La Nao"
Storm Modder
I went from a GeForce 5200 to a 6600GT.

Now I see that GM viewer does not show models with the proper lighting. Is there something I can do or is the viewer just becoming obsolete?

AFAIK the viewer never did do lighting--everything's 100% self-illuminated/luminosity-channel/whatever-your-package-calls-it.
It can load lightmaps (the COL files) though. Well, vertex lighting, but anyway.

If you want, I can hack up a little console script for you so you can position/rotate models for screenshots easier.

But the best solution--the solution it appears they used for stock portraits--is to render in a 3D package--you get full shadows too.

Wait--are you talking about proper lighting for portraits, or proper lighting to see what color will look like ingame?

Ah, then never mind my above.
I can't really think of any other way to view them than ingame for that--no way to know, really, how STORM handles lighting in a way we could duplicate externally, I'd think.
