The Fragata Latina rigging was last updated in 2011 and is now looking bad, so I've been trying out different configurations. Some wip pics. She is currently using masts from the Xebec and Lateens from the PO_Caravel R.

Wow, cool! And to think she started out as a simple quest-only ship by Bartolomeu. :cheeky
 
Yes she can only be bought at Grenada. She's a nice escort ship. Fast and very manueverable but can not carry any cargo. I captured a pinnace without firing a shot. Just raced in before they could bring their cannons to bear.

I spent the night getting the ropes placed. Now it's about time to move to the bow. The vants are terrible but I don't know what else to do.

You turn a triangular sail into a trapezoid sail. It is a 4 sided sail that looks like a 3 sided sail. This keeps the lower edge straight at all times instead of it getting curvy.
 
It's cool indeed. It does create a small glitch at the point where two of the four corners overlap, though it's not too noticeable.
 
She is nearly finished but I have run into a problem and need help. :oops:

The lateens were working great except that they had the reverse lighting bug, so I did the same trick that works on spankers. It worked on these lateens too except for three things that refuse to go invisible and look awful. Can anything be done?

Perhaps you need to HEX-edit that Caravel_mast2.tga file to use a blank texture file as well.
You can't just remove the locator that calls that file itself, right?
 
I just looked at the Caravel_mast2.tga and see no way to edit it at all.

Eh? What locator?

I have 2 options. Hope someone can fix it. Go back to the way it was before with the reverse lighting bug.
 
There must be a gm file that links to it.
For the texture, make a copy of blnk but rename it to have the same length as the caravel mast texture.
Then hex edit the gm to use that file instead.
 
Just want to check.... This is already correctly included in the current Build 14 Beta 3.3 WIP version, right?
